Cybernet’s Cyberxtreme is offering in one of its packages a DSL Modem with built-in Wifi. Here are the rates from Cybernet’ site:

Modem & Installation Charges (Excluding Govt. Taxes):

- ADSL2+ Router (Modem) with USB & Ethernet Ports – Rs.2500/-

- ADSL2+ Wireless Router (WiFi Modem) with USB & 4 Ports Ethernet Switch –Rs.4500/-

- Installation charges – Rs.1000/-

I am helping someone to get this DSL+Wifi set up at his home and it would be interesting to see what is the default configuration of the Wifi. If, for the ease of the end user, the system is configured to allow open access (with DHCP and NAT), and Cybernet is selling a couple of these boxes every day, we will soon have (yumm…) quite a number of wifi open access hotspots at least in the affulent areas of Karachi.Cyberxtreme Rates
